Scope note
Italian territories in the Horn of Africa in the period 1936–41. It comprised Ethiopia (annexed by Italy on 9 May 1936 and proclaimed a part of Italian East Africa 1 June 1936), the Italian colonies of Eritrea and Italian Somaliland (now part of Somalia). The area was taken by British forces in 1941.
