The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) was created by the Georgetown Agreement in 1975, originally with the aim of coordinating cooperation between its members and the European Community. Its members are signatories to successive agreements with the European Community/Union, from the First Lomé Convention (1975) to the Cotonou Agreement (2000). The ACP Group consists of 79 member-States: 48 countries from Sub-Saharan Africa, 16 from the Caribbean and 15 from the Pacific.
