LCSH: Bobo; AE: Bwa; Bomu and Bwamu. Bwamu or Eastern Bobo Oule: 'Bwa' is their name for themselves ('Bwaba' is plural) in the Dedougou dialect. 'Bwamu' (Bouamou) is the language. 'Bobo' is the general Bambara name for Bwamu, Bomo, or Bobo Fing, but properly applies only to the Bobo Fing (ethno). Bomu or Western Bobo Oule: The people call themselves 'Bo' (sg.), 'Bwa' (pl.), and their language 'Bomu' or 'Boré' (ethno).
