HR. In 1549, Detie Fu Ndiogu became independent from the kingdom of Djolof with the title of Damel. The most important kingdom in Senegal between Dakar and St Louis with Mboul as capital city. Annexed by the French in 1864, then restored in 1871 and annexed again in 1879.
