A body set up by the riparian States to manage the tract of country drained by a river and its tributaries, such as the Niger Basin Authority (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Nigeria), the Lake Chad Basin Commission (Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Nigeria), the Organization for the Development of the Senegal River/OMVS (Mali, Mauritania, Senegal) and the Organization for the Management and Development of the Kagera River Basin (Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda).
